$1000 pot at The Vic! (Weeeee!)

Friday today! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

End of the week! One session left to play. 10pm - 3am @ The Vic.

It has been another positive week so far:

Online: +$281.84 (6 sessions / 10 hours / $29.66 per hour)

The Vic: +£1,015 (3 sessions / 14 hours / £72.50 per hour)

Excellent 10 days....as you can see above!

Touch wood I can record a satisfactory session tonight! Friday action is usually crazy at The Vic.

Stack protection is essential against the weak players during the weekends. So I am looking to tighten up a little tonight, and play solid tight aggressive poker.

I have been shipping large stacks of chips early into sessions of late, and been using my loose image to accumulate from mid to end parts of the night.

I do have a sick story from last night. I sat down in the £200 game, and managed to lose over £150 very efficiently.

Then I decided to take shot at the £50 Freeze out tournament, with over 60 runners.

I was pretty deep into the tournament with about 18 players left, when there was a short break.
I saw an open seat at the £200 game, and thought I would play a hand or two during the break. The sick man that I am. I had some loose chips, around £150.

Second hand, I picked up 8 6 of diamonds under the gun. I usually would come in raising with this hand, but as I was playing passively I just limped in.

There was a raise, and a call before the action folded around to me. I called, and went to the flop with two players.

The flop was the most beautiful board you could see for 8 6 of diamonds. A straight flush draw. Making me a +58% favourite to win the hand by the river card.

What I had to do however was get all my money in before the turn. Because if I missed the turn my chances would be down to just over +30%, and I would suspect a huge bet to price me out.

I checked, and prayed for a bet from the initial raiser. He indeed bet. A pot sized bet of around £30. Strong bet. Knowing the player, I instantly put him on a big over pair (KK or AA).

The other player in the pot smooth called. Possibly also drawing.

I moved all in for another £150 or so, I honestly wanted a call. I even told them I was drawing, and after a while of hesitation managed to get a call from the initial raiser.

However to my surprise the other player also called me. Sick!

I stood up, and looked over at my tournament table who had already started playing and were blinding me away (with the blinds at 200 / 4o0 and a stack of 2,000 its not a good thing!).

The turn brought a 5, pairing the board. I feared that the second caller may of filled up to a house.

The river was a black 9. Completing my straight.

The initial raiser showed A A, and to my surprise the other player proudly showed A 5.

I won a $1000 pot!!!! Calmly collected my stack, and walked away to my tournament table.

I went out the tournament with around 16 left.....in a blind vs blind situation. Oh well!

Anyway, I will report my end of week later....

Yigit out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
