Visit to The Vic! Sunday Night!

Wow....last night I really did prove to myself (if it was in any doubt) that I am genuinely an above average player.

After watching the new Rocky film (SICKKKK!), I felt the urge to rip apart the fish at The Vic.

Before I left I considered what Eug was telling me last week about how I turned soft, and I talk toooo much....that I need to focus, show no emotion....Well that was my first goal of the night. I said to myself, I am going to play, win or lose I am not going to talk, show emotion, or be nice! I am going to zone in and play!

My second goal was that I was going to play "poker", play the game not my cards! My strategy was to gamble a little bit early on to get a stack, and use this stack to play aggressively in position.

Well......I sat down, my usual two stacks of reds and a stack of yellow (£220). I zoned in. No talking at all! Then around 15/20 minutes of passing cards, I picked up 8 9 suited, in the big blind. Limp pot. With several limpers I decided not to raise.

I flopped a flush draw, on an ace high board. With the intention to check raise, I checked. Sure enough there was a bet.......some dude bet £8. There was one caller before it got to me. I made a raise up to £30 total. The guy who made the initial bet smooth called. So we were heads up to the turn. Out of position! The turn brought me gutshot straight draw, and still with my flush draw I felt I weren't in that bad of a shape. I also thought the guy must have some weak ace, and could fold to a strong bet. So I bet out £87.

You see, I had already decided on the flop that I would be seeing this hand out, I wanted to gamble to accumulate the stack I needed for my strategy for the night, and I thought this was a good spot. The £87 bet was basically committing me to the pot, but at the same time giving me the chance to win the pot right there. The guy had aces up (turned a Jack to give him Aces and Jacks). He put me all in. I called, and rivered a beautiful heart! BOOOOOOM!

I really do think one of the weaknesses in my game is my lack of gamble, and I was happy that I played this hand the way I played it.

So from there, I played amazing. I never played a pot out of position, and always came in betting and raising. I did not have to showdown a hand for 2 / 3 hours. By 2am I had a stack of £700, and called it a night!

I feel great!

Anyway....enough! I am going to hit the virtual tables now....playing $5o only these days...$10-$20 here I coooooommmmmeeeeee!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yigit out!
