The Turn

Been having a really bad run on stars, the past few days. My roll has gone from $830 to about $540 at one point. A mixture of a very bad run, some tilting and very loose play (Yigit's to blame) was the cause for all this. Thankfully, I was able to get my head together and play some brilliant poker and do some damage control. I am still running bad however. Tonight, there was this one player, he was sat on my left so he had position on me the whole time, he beat me out of at least 5 pots in which I had premium hands. I'm not even talking about AK... talking about AA, KK, QQ, JJ. And he was calling me w/ hands like A7o, Q7, J3.. etc. Now normally, I can put my opponents on a range of hands, so I always know what to do. But this guy just kept calling and calling and CALLING. And he kept winning. To my credit, I didn't steam. I started to restrategize at that particular table. With premium hands, I was doing 4-6 BB. But now, I increased it to 8-10 BB. That way I was sure of the hands I was up against. However, he did crack my AA with Q7 even when I 8 bet the BB. Anyway, yesterday and today were pretty good days. So my roll is back up to around $680.

Syed's been having a terrible time too, which I won't go into great detail because I think he would like to explain it himself. But it looks like our July Vegas trip might have to be postponed. SIGH! I was really looking forward to it. Still going to Vegas this year. Maybe in September? Yigit? September?

Tomorrow, I'm just gonna try take my roll up close to $800. I'm gonna try. It seems one of my mistakes is getting stuck early on. Then I have a tough time trying to pull it together. So for the first few rounds, I'm gonna have to play "nice &snug" and just observe. I've made a new rule for myself. Whenever I start putting serious money in a pot, I'm gonna have to have the nuts... or something close to it. No point double barelling and bluffing because.... well it's a waste of money. Hopefully all goes well tomorrow. I'm positive!
